Postdoctoral position
A Postdoctoral position for an extremely motivated researcher to study the role of molecular and metabolic aspects of cell programmed necrosis (necroptosis) in Ovarian Cancer Stem cells is available at Hormel Cancer Research Institute, University of Minnesota in Austin, MN in the Laboratory of Dr. Ilana Chefetz. Our lab aims to expand our understanding of necroptosis and energy metabolism and provide critical pre-clinical studies for a potential novel Cancer Stem cells targeted therapeutics to prevent recurrent ovarian cancer.

Applicants should have a PhD degree in molecular and cellular biology or biomedical sciences and experience in mice handling (or willing to learn). Experience in cancer biology, Cancer Stem Cells, cell death pathways, FACS, metabolism, Genetically Engineered mice model, RNA-seq and cloning is desirable. Applicants should have ability to develop new and improved methodology. Good communication and organizational skills, and good knowledge of English (both verbal and written) are required. Applicants should have demonstrated scientific productivity, have a strong publication record, be able to design and execute scientific experiments independently, write manuscripts, prepare and submit competitive fellowship applications.
